Title: Stability of ecological networks
It is of great interest how much the state of an ecological system, such as biodiversity or species abundance, is robust against perturbations. In this talk I will try to give a brief overview of mathematical approaches for defining and answering this question - the dynamic stability of ecological systems. Given the increasing availability of large-scale empirical data, the structure of interspecific interactions is being disclosed, and I will discuss how the network structure is related to dynamic stability.
